In Web Reports there are two different ways of filtering data - through "Filters" and through "Parameters". But whats the difference?
- Filters: We like to consider filters as a way of filtering the report in a way that gives the end user no control over the outcome. For example, if I wanted to filter the report on the Country "Australia" and not allow the end user to change the country, I would use Filters.
- Parameters: Parameters allow the end user the flexibility to change how the report is slicing the data. Using the example from above, if we were to put "Country" in the Parameters, the end user could choose to view the report by any Country they have permissions to view.
